Oak Ridge High School is undoubtedly one of the best El Dorado Hills high schools. Founded in 1980, Oak Ridge has established a reputation for excellence in academics, athletics, as well as the arts. With a diverse student body of approximately 2,500 students, Oak Ridge High School offers a range of programs and activities to meet the needs and interests of its students from all over.
ORHS Mission: The mission of Oak Ridge High School is to provide a purposeful teaching and learning environment, which challenges our students to achieve academic, artistic, personal and civic excellence.
Academics:
Firstly, Oak Ridge High School offers a rigorous academic curriculum that helps to prepare students for college and beyond. ORHS has a graduation rate of 99% and a college readiness index score of 80.6, well above the state average. It offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in 24 subjects, allowing students to earn college credits while still in high school. Moreover, the school also offers a variety of elective courses such as journalism, robotics, and culinary arts to name a few.
Athletics:
The athletic programs at Oak Ridge High School are highly competitive, with teams competing in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and soccer. Also, their sports teams have won numerous league championships, and many of its athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. Oak Ridge also offers a wide range of intramural sports as well as fitness classes.
Arts & Music:
ORHS has a vibrant arts program that includes classes in visual arts, music, and theater. Moreover, the school’s drama program is particularly well known, with productions that have won awards at the regional and state levels. However, it also has a strong music program, with award-winning choir, band, and orchestra programs.
Extra Curriculars:
Oak Ridge High School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including clubs, organizations, and volunteer opportunities. Students can choose from over 80 clubs and organizations, including a robotics club, a debate club, and also a multicultural club, to name a few. Furthermore, it also has a particularly strong community service program, with students participating in projects such as food drives, blood drives as well as local environmental cleanups.

Finally, ORHS has a modern campus with state-of-the-art facilities, including a performing arts center, gymnasium, and a swimming pool. The school also has a library and media center, computer labs, as well as science and engineering labs.
